Get to know Jane in this spotlight interview covering her experience prior to joining Coopman, her proudest achievement and more.

  1. Tell us about your career prior to Coopman.

My background is quite (I mean very) different to finance. I began my career in the Food and Nutrition industry providing healthy eating solutions to consumers nationwide. This career stemmed from my passion for nutrition and wellbeing. When developing my career further, I decided to take some time and travel before searching for new opportunities. When searching for this a new role, I reflected on my strengths but also had a focus on advancing my career within a forward thinking, innovative company with highly supportive and positive people. This in turn would escalate my developmental growth and those around me, which is why I decided on Coopman. They have an excellent culture with a mind for growth, progression and excellence.

  1. Why did you want to join Coopman?

Coopman stood out to me as soon as I found them on LinkedIn. As my focus was working in a driven, growing and dynamic environment, they seemed to tick all the boxes. Upon applying for the role of Marketing Specialist, I received a call and had an excellent experience with the team from the first moment of contact. This made my interest in the company grow and I was eager to continue the journey with Coopman.

  1. Where do you see the Coopman brand in one year?

I see the company emerging among its competitors and standing its ground within the recruitment industry. I also see Coopman paving the way for a dynamic way of business. The focus on B Corporation, charity organisations, innovation and excellence will certainly stand to them in this ever-changing, competitive job market.

  1. What has been your proudest achievement?

I would say, my continuous growth and deciding to take on any new challenges have been some of the best achievements. Each small achievement brings me closer to overall growth and development. Whether it has been personal or professional. If I had to give one answer, I would say completing my Digital Marketing Diploma and making a career move.

  1. What is the best piece of advice you ever received?

I am grateful to have a lovely support system around me. I would say I get the best advice from family. A great piece of advice I have received is ‘There are no limitations, only the ones we impose on ourselves’. This in turn means, we can all reach success with the right mindset and try to understand where our perceived limitations are coming from in order to overcome them and grow.

  1. What business leader or company do you admire and why?

I admire a variety of different leaders, from thought leaders, entrepreneurs, writers and guru’s. I admire Gary Vaynerchuk and Robin Sharma for their ability to speak openly and have a different outlook on professional areas of life. They always remain positive and provide great advice regarding mindset and growth while keeping a kind and compassionate demeanour.

  1. What do you like to do in your spare time?

I enjoy the outdoors but I also like having some quiet time. I have always loved sports, outdoor activities and challenging myself. I recently took up rock climbing which I have enjoyed. On the other hand, I do like to sit with a cup of tea and watch a great horror movie!
