We asked over 90 employers across Ireland and the UK about whether they will use flexible working as a competitive advantage to attract and retain talent in a post-pandemic working world. In particular, we wanted to establish a benchmark within the industry for the adoption of flexible working practices and the design of future working policies.
Some of the key points that emerged include:
employers successfully managed the transition to remote working with the onset of the pandemic, overcoming any challenges and providing additional support to employees where needed;
employers are confident that they will be able to return to the office in 2021, however they anticipate facing challenges in transitioning employees back to the office and managing their expectations;
employers believe that offering flexible working arrangements will act as a competitive advantage to attract and retain talent post Covid-19, however they fear that with increased flexibility, there may be a loss of culture and office energy; and
employers will be proactive in supporting their employees transitioning to hybrid, remote or other flexible working models.
Designed to assist management and HR teams in developing their future working strategies and policies, the guide details the results of the survey in full and provides industry benchmarks, predictions and solutions for the return to the office and implementation of flexible working arrangements.
