Ellen has joined Coopman Search and Selection as a Consultant on the Accounting & Finance desk in Dublin. Get to know Ellen in this spotlight interview, discussing her reasons for joining Coopman, her career prior to Coopman, her proudest achievement, and more.

1. Tell us about your career prior to Coopman.

I learned about recruitment during my time in Australia and realised I would love to do this as a career! I joined Hays Recruitment pretty much as soon as I landed in Dublin and stayed there for 4 years. I specialised in Entry Level Banking roles for 2 years and then moved onto the professional banking desk for another two years. I worked on a broad range of roles within the Financial Services Sector during my time in Hays.

2. Why did you want to join Coopman?

I joined Coopman for a number of reasons but one of the main ones was the approach they take with their candidates. Coopman prides itself on building great relationships with their clients and candidates.

3. Where do you see the Coopman brand in one year?

I think in one year as we continue to grow, and develop our relationships with clients and candidates alike, that we will be the top of people’s minds for recruitment services in the financial services space.

4. What has been your proudest achievement?

The first person I put into a job back in 2020, I’ll never forget his name or the feeling of achievement.

5. What is the best piece of advice you ever received?

”Put yourself in their shoes” I always try to see things from other people’s perspective.

6. What business leader or company do you admire and why?

I love the Diary of CEO podcast. I admire Steven Bartlett because he has built a platform to invite fascinating and inspiring people to share their wisdom across the globe.

7. What do you like to do in your spare time?

My mind is usually so busy with work so I like chill activities in my spare time like Pilates, yoga, walking meeting friends. 😊
