Risk & Control Officer

Coopman Search & Selection are delighted to partner with a highly reputable, leading European Bank with global operations, searching for an experienced Risk & Control Officer to join its growing team in London.
  
You will assume delegated risk ownership providing expertise to the first line, working closely with the second line functions, training, risk control requirements, and risk assessments.
  
You will have prior experience in taking ownership of Risk and Control related issues, whilst providing advice and guidance to the business on activities in relation to regulatory change and any deficiencies in existing systems and process.
  
Key Responsibilities of the Risk Control Officer:
  

  • Defining and completing relevant Risk related activities such as, but not exclusive to, RSAs, Risk Dashboards, SIRA, Financial Crime Fraud Risk Assessments, CRAs and SRAs
  • Understanding the UK business structure and keeping an up to date knowledge of existing systems and processes
  • Undertaking reviews of existing processes and identifying, with the goal of mitigating, any associated risk
  • Providing regular reporting and Management Information
  • Have accountability and oversight for all UK non-financial risk
  • Deliver training to the business, alongside Compliance, on new processes being introduced to continue meeting regulatory obligations
  • Provide assistance with internal audits as well as any visits and examinations from regulatory bodies

  
Experience required of the Risk Control Officer:
  

  • Demonstrable experience of working in the UK Financial Services industry in a business risk function
  • Strong working knowledge of Financial Crime risk and understanding of associated Compliance and regulatory frameworks
  • Preferred knowledge of traditional Banking structures, product offerings and internal systems
  • Educated to degree level preferred
  • Ability to interact and manage relationships with stakeholder of varying levels
  • Comfortability in an environment that embraces change and new challenges
  • Able to work autonomously and develop plans for ongoing development and new business activity in their area
