Fund Controller

Coopman London is partnering with an early stages VC fund in London as they look to hire their second addition to the finance function. 

Working in tandem with the CFO, this role will take ownership over the fund accounting responsibilities of the business with scope to assist the CFO in corporate accounting duties too. While most of your responsabilities will include the following, they certainly won’t be limited to:

• Oversee fund accounting, financial reporting, and valuations
• Manage capital calls, distributions, and investor allocations
• Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and fund administrators
• Ensure regulatory compliance (e.g. FCA, AIFMD)
• Maintain investor reporting and performance metrics
• Monitor fund cash flow and budgeting
• Support portfolio company financial oversight and exits

This is the second finance hire the business has ever made and so there will be a great degree of adaptability and exposure within this role. Expect to be working in close proximity to Founding Partners, deal origination and the portfolio teams. 

Due to the boutique nature of this firm – a degree of flexibility will be required with the successful candidate for the role being confident to deal with senior stakeholders and enjoy a dynamic working environment.

The successful candidate will be required to be: 

• Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA equivalent 
• Minimum 5 years of fund finance experience with closed ended funds – ideally PE or VC or similar 
• Organised, driven and proactive individual with experience of managing relationships with senior stakeholders 
• UK right to work – we cannot offer sponsorship for this role 
• Proficient excel skills
